Bullying is a important issue to me because it is involved in every one’s life at some point in your life. Bullying occurs in every single grade level and is a issue that is so hard to abolish. Bullying is such a big deal in the USA because it is one of the main issue that supports every other problem in America concerning the communication of people. This topic is such a interesting topic to others, because there is not a person who hasn’t gone through the problem. Every one can relate to bullying and give their own personal statement of how to fix the issue. I would like to directly speak to the kids because this is were bullying beginnings and will be prohibit from a young age. The more we let bullying into our community the worst it will become and the harder it will be to abolish it. The imagery that represents this idea, will most likely be from a imagery that they would be very familiar with the image. So I decided to use Sponge bob as my main imagery to explain the difference between being the bully and how one will be treated afterwards.
The issue upon the views of Mexicans is not true for everyone. The American views and stereotypes is believed to say that all Mexicans are useless. Stereotypes help others discriminate against minorities like me. Racial profiling is created by stereotypes which the majority of the people discriminate against the minorities. Mexicans are thought to be gang bangers, drunk, dumb, and always on drugs. The society has been accustomed to these lies for many years. The media such as videos, the web, audio, and images help create an illusion of how the society is.
There are many television shows and movies that describes the Mexicans as the bad people of the society which create an negative affects on all Mexicans. American Me directed by Edward James Olmos is about Mexicans’ life in Los Angeles. The story begins with a guy name Santana who creates a gang and spends most of his life in jail for a break-in. Santana along with his Mexican Mafia Gang go through a series of violent events. In this movie, it shows the illusion of Mexican being a very violent culture. American Me displays the crime of Mexicans against other cultures, as well as drug trafficking. Thousands pf people watch this movie and have “learned” the way that all Mexicans are. In reality, this is not the cases for many Mexicans in America today. More and more Mexicans are going to college today, even with all the stereotypes. The majority have discriminated against the minorities for many years and will not stop until the media stops it’s lies.
Mexicans stereotype affects me as well as all the others minorities who are fighting twice as hard as everyone else just to get along life. I am proud of my race and would not give it up for anything. But every once in a while its hard being the person I am, the one that everyone looks down upon. Many people judge me for the way I look and the color of my skin, but it does not mean I act or talk a certain way. I sometimes try to use this error in society as a motivation to prove everyone wrong. I get a certain feeling when I’m in a certain environment where I do not feel welcome, but I am still there to succeed in life. I feel proud of myself when I surprise people for where I’m at, with just being an minority.
The issue of Mexican stereotype will continue to affect our society until the media stops. The media has a big impact on people’s lives today, as the media is all around us. It can be from little kids watching the Disney channel to adults watching violent movies that reacts the perspective of how a Mexican lives today. The media has a negative emotion towards the society and will continue to harm all the minorities who are trying to succeed their goals.
